Join the Alliance

Criteria for joining the Alliance

• Your museum meets our loose definition of mini museum: a small, independent, passion-driven collection whose primary purpose is to inform, educate, and/or entertain the public. 

• Solely owned by someone engaged in day-to-day operations

• Primary intent is to share content, items, or information related to a collection 

  • i.e. There is written labeling that explains and describes the content of the museum

• Merchandise sales are acceptable, but the primary function of the collection is not to serve as a storefront

• Museums can be either for-profit or nonprofit, they do not have to have a stable, physical location, and the content can be fantasy, as long as the criteria above are met

Member Expectations After Joining the Alliance

• Attend monthly meetings

• Add your museum's events to the shared Alliance event calendar
